Best Beach Make-up | Vacation | Summer Makeup | Summer Skin Tips
Beach make-up in our opinion should be subtle, natural, and dewy. We have listed the products that will help you achieve the perfect ‘beachy’ look. By switching out a few products you will be well on your way to achieving a dreamy sunkissed look, instead of a cakey, creased look.
1. Layer on sunscreen and UV protection
Besides hydrating your skin, you also want to make sure it’s properly protected from the sun. It is so important to apply sunscreen every single day, underneath your makeup.
After applying your SPF, you should apply an oil-free moisturizer and then an oil-free foundation, in the morning.
3. Invest in a good makeup primer
Primer is applied after your moisturizer, but before your makeup to create an ideal canvas for your makeup application. Many new primers don’t just soothe the skin, they also fade fine lines and wrinkles, and add moisture. Primers are very lightweight on your skin.
4. Glow up with some bronzer
Bronzer is used to add warmth and dimension to your face. We love applying bronzer to where the sun would naturally hit your face: forehead, cheekbones, chin, and nose. This will give you a nice natural look.
5. Wear less makeup
Less is more when it comes to beach makeup. To prevent your makeup from creasing and cracking don’t go too heavy! Choose a lightweight, water-based tinted moisturizer for more natural-looking coverage. Avoid cream foundations or anything too luminous. A heavy foundation will show immediate signs of streaking and creasing in the heat, as the humidity will make you extra shiny and sweaty-looking.
6. Go for sheer shades
Sheer shades are best during summer vacations. Rich, deep colors can look heavy. Nude shades are much more subtle and natural-looking for your beachy glow.
Avoid using cream-based products on your eyelids, and apply an eye primer instead, for a longer-lasting eyeshadow. Applying a primer will create a base for the eyeshadow to cling to, allowing it to last longer. Nobody wants a creased eyelid!
8. Cream blush instead of powder
When humidity spikes, powder blushers have a habit of cacking up and crumbling on the skin. Cream and gel-based blushers sink into the skin rather than sitting on the top of the skin. A creamy blush will give you a fresh, dewy look, perfect for your summer vacation.
9. Lip stains
Lip Stains are long-lasting formulas that have sheer coverage that can be built up.
10. Waterproof Mascara
Do you love to swim? Don’t want to look like a panda! You could always get an eyelash tint that will last 6 weeks or invest in a good waterproof mascara.
11. Always finish with a setting spray
The final step in getting your makeup to last all day and night. Setting spray is a liquid mist, with water and alcohol typically as its main ingredients, that can be used to increase the lifespan of your makeup look, preventing fading and smudging.
We highly recommend MAC PREP AND PRIME FIX a lightweight water mist that gently soothes and refreshes skin and finishes makeup.
